Joseph William Antonakos

Joseph William Antonakos is a born and raised native Staten Islander, having lived on the South Shore for over 20 years. Mr. Antonakos graduated Our Lady Star of the Sea School in Huguenot in 2005 and Saint Joseph by-the-Sea High School in 2009. While attending Saint Joseph by-the-Sea, Mr. Antonakos earned 59 college credits through advanced college extension courses. These credits allowed Mr. Antonakos to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in 3 years from St. John’s University.

Mr. Antonakos attended St. John’s University’s Staten Island campus. He was among the first accepted into the Tobin College of Business’s 5-year combined Bachelor’s and Master’s program in Management. During his time at St. John’s, Mr. Antonakos was accepted into three prestigious honor societies: Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society, Sigma Iota Epsilon National Honorary and Professional Management Society, and Beta Gamma Sigma International Business Honor Society. Mr. Antonakos earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management in 2012 and his Masters of Business Administration Degree with a concentration in Executive Management in 2013.

Mr. Antonakos earned his Juris Doctor degree from New York Law School in 2016. While a student at New York Law School, Mr. Antonakos was a proud member of the law school’s Center for Business and Financial Law. During the summer of 2014, Mr. Antonakos worked as a Research Fellow for the Center. Mr. Antonakos’s primary duty was researching and compiling information on corporate loan documents and organizing that information into reports. The reports were then published online for use by business and legal professionals as a resource for use in loan negotiations.

Mr. Antonakos also had the honor of interning for the Honorable Judge Laura Ward of the New York State Supreme Court, New York County, in 2015. As an intern to Judge Ward, Mr. Antonakos gained practical hearing and trial experience. Mr. Antonakos’s duties included conducting legal research and writing relevant to the cases before the Court. In addition, Mr. Antonakos gained insight into the legal reasoning used by judges in rendering decisions.

Mr. Antonakos joined the team at Scamardella, Gervasi, Thomson, & Kasegrande, P.C. in 2018. Currently, Mr. Antonakos works in the Litigation Department where he offers representation in commercial litigation, personal injury, and estate matters. Mr. Antonakos is licensed to practice law in both New York and New Jersey.
