Firm Profile

Scamardella, Gervasi & Kasegrande, P.C. was founded in 1954 and is now one of Staten Island’s largest and longest established law firms. Initially formed by Thomas J. Russo, many of the firm’s partners have become elected officials and judges. Current partner, Robert J. Scamardella, who specializes in elder law and estate administration and litigation, joined the firm in 1984. Partner John D’Amato, who handled civil and criminal litigation, including toxic and mass torts, died in 2007. Thomas J. Russo retired in 1999 and on January 1, 2002 former U.S. Congressman and Staten Island Borough President Guy V. Molinari joined the firm. Michael V. Gervasi, who specializes in accident cases and all business-related lawsuits joined the firm in 2002. Leslie B. Kasegrande, formerly in-house counsel at the New York Stock Exchange, practices estate planning and administration. She joined the firm in 2009. Linda Victorio, an associate with the firm since 2008, handles accident cases and general litigation.

In addition to its five attorneys, the firm employs a support staff of eight assistants. They include three secretaries, three paralegals, an investigator and a bookkeeper. These eight assistants have a combined 101 years with the organization.

The Firm owns its own 4,200 sq. foot handicap accessible building at 1010 Forest Avenue where it has been located since its inception. Behind the building is a firm owned parking lot with ample parking for all staff and clients. The firm utilizes the latest computerized legal research technology.
