JOHN M. D’AMATO: Mr. D’Amato attended undergraduate at Ohio State University where he was awarded an athletic scholarship and was a member of the 1975 Rose Bowl Football Team. He was recently inducted into Staten Island’s Sports Hall of Fame. In 2003, Mr. D’Amato served as Campaign Chairman for Daniel Donovan, the first Republican District Attorney elected in over fifty years. Mr. D’Amato has also served as Legal Counsel to current Staten Island Borough President James P. Molinaro’s campaign, the Campaign Chairman for current New York City Council Minority Leader James Oddo, and the Campaign Chairman for his former law partner and former New York City Councilman, the current Richmond County Surrogate, John Fusco – the first Republican Surrogate of Richmond County. Mr. D’Amato served as an Assistant District Attorney in Bronx County, and was the Republican/Conservative candidate for New York Supreme Court Justice of the 2nd Judiciary District. Mayor Rudolph Giuliani appointed Mr. D’Amato to the Board of Directors of New York City 2012, the organization charged with promoting New York City as the site for the 2012 Summer Olympic Games. Councilman James Oddo appointed Mr. D’Amato to the New York State Financial Control Board. Mr. D’Amato is recognized as an outstanding trial lawyer, and was honored “Lawyer of the Year” in 2003 by the Staten Island Republican Lawyers Association. |
